About The Event
Grammy-winning guitarist/composer Shane Theriot (pronounced Terry-o) hails from the New Orleans area and has been playing guitar since age 11. After graduating with top honors in all styles from GIT in Hollywood, CA, he was recommended for a teaching position by Scott Henderson at GIT at age 20.
Theriot’s versatility in both the studio and stage has led to work with many artists in virtually all styles of music. At age 25, he joined the world-renowned Neville Brothers, touring and performing internationally as a member for 8 years, all while continuing to work and record with other artists.
In 2015 Theriot became a Grammy award winning producer, having won a Grammy for Jo-El Sonnier's highly acclaimed recording called "The Legacy".
Shane is currently working as the Music Director for Daryl Hall's award winning television show "Live from Daryl's House" as well as performing with Daryl Hall and John Oates.
Joe Ashlar has been performing professionally around the US and internationally since age 10. Recently Joe has become a regular on the New Orleans music scene, playing Hammond organ for music legend Dr. John.
Joe Ashlar, originally from Connecticut, began piano studies at the age of four years. He has studied with the great Dr. Lonnie Smith and has become a prominent piano and organ player on the New Orleans jazz scene. He is a member of the insanely funky band; Good Enough for Good Times. He also leads his own band, the Joe Ashlar Organ Trio. Joe’s trio includes himself, Doug Belote, Brian Seeger and special guest Brad Walker.
South Louisiana native Doug Belote grew up in Cajun country, immersed in the sounds of jazz, rock, funk, R&B, Cajun, zydeco, Dixieland, gospel, Latin and New Orleans second line rhythms. He began playing the drums at age 12 and worked in clubs and at recording sessions while still in high school. After just a semester at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, he sold everything he owned including his drums and hit the road for The Drummers Collective in New York City, where he studied with Ricky Sebastian and Kim Plainfield and broadened his musical palette.
In his early 20s, Belote began touring Europe, Japan and the Caribbean with a variety of New Orleans-based jazz, blues and funk artists. He has recorded on more than 100 albums and his resume includes work with Mike Gordon, Jeff Coffin, George Porter Jr., Willie Nelson, Sonny Landreth, Henry Butler, Delfeayo Marsalis, Anders Osborne, Cyril Neville, Ivan Neville, Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Allen Toussaint, Fred Wesley, Steve Masakowski and many other artists.
Belote currently lives in New Orleans and tours with 12-time Grammy winner Jerry Douglas.
