New Jersey native and long time NOLA resident Joshua Abelson has been doing behind the scenes heavy lifting in the Rock and Roll world for over thirty years. He toured as part of the Grateful Dead’s security team and ran the door at NYC’s legendary Lone Star Cafe in it’s 1980‘s heyday.

It was at the Lone Star that Josh met New Orleans Rock and Roll road kings the Radiators, who brought him to New Orleans 2003. He would remain with them as their tour manager for the remainder of their touring career. When the Rads called it quits, Josh became a talent buyer at the legendary club Tipitina’s for two years before joining the staff at the Maple Leaf Bar. During this time he also tour managed for Bruce Hornsby and Dr. John.

In May of this year, Josh suffered a stroke. He has been unable to work and the bills, both medical and personal, are stacking up. Fortunately for Josh there is no shortage of love for him in the music community, and it’s our pleasure to present this concert to help our friend. Hope you can be there with us!
