4th Annual Wolfman Fest (Rain Relocation — We're Moving the Party Inside!)
Mother Nature had other plans, but the music goes on — and Walter would have expected nothing less. Due to rain, the 4th Annual Wolfman Fest is relocating from the park on Esplanade to the Maple Leaf Bar, and there is no more fitting place in New Orleans to celebrate the life and legacy of Walter "Wolfman" Washington than the room where he made magic for decades.
A quintessential New Orleans luminary, Walter spent six decades weaving blues, funk, soul, and jazz into something that was entirely, unmistakably his own. He cut his teeth backing legends like Irma Thomas, Lee Dorsey, and Ernie K-Doe before forming the Roadmasters in 1986 and holding down some of the most beloved weekly residencies this city has ever known — including right here at the Maple Leaf, where he recorded, where he residenced,…
