Josh Paxton has spent most of the past quarter-century playing piano and keyboards in New Orleans. Known as one of the top players in the rhythm and blues piano traditions of Professor Longhair, James Booker and Dr, John, he has made a name for himself integrating elements of jazz, funk and Latin music into the New Orleans tradition to create a unique and personal piano style. He's also a sought-after sideman, having played with everyone from the Wild Magnolias to Little Queenie to Big Sam's Funky Nation. He can currently be heard with jazz chanteuse Debbie Davis, and with funk/rock innovators Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes.
