About The Event

Brittany Purdy is a singer/songwriter living in New Orleans, LA.  In 2013 the songstress moved from the Big Apple to the Big Easy after being captivated by the rich musical culture that she experienced on a week long trip to the city. For the first few years she was in New Orleans, the singer/songwriter was writing, but not performing until she started collaborating with bassist and producer Charlie Wooton in 2016. Since her first performance in NOLA in 2016, Brittany has shared the stage with some of her favorite New Orleans artists including James Singleton, Johnny Vidacovich, June Yamagishi, Terence Higgins, Mark Mullins, Khris Royal, and Tom Worrell.

Her song, "Sweet New Orleans" placed 2nd at the National Delgado Songwriting Competition with over 1,300 submissions in March 2017 which inspired her to record her first EP, "Welcome to Sazaraz".  Her EP which was recorded at Oak Street Recording Studio and produced by Charlie Wooton will be released just in time for her January residency at the Maple Leaf Bar.  The EP features some of New Orleans finest including Terence Higgins, Eric "Benny" Bloom, Keiko Komaki, and Charlie Wooton.  The Wednesday shows will be Brittany's debut at the legendary music venue with her own band.
