If you haven't heard Erica Falls yet, tonight's your night to fix that. Dubbed the New Queen of New Orleans Neo-Soul, this 9th Ward native brings something special every time she steps on a stage — the kind of voice that makes you feel it in your chest.
She grew up on Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Nina Simone, and it shows. Her sound is soulful and rooted, but very much alive — like she said herself, vintage soul isn't about taking you back, it's about reminding you that real music never went anywhere.
She's shared stages and studio time with Allen Toussaint, Sting, Dr. John, and Jennifer Hudson, and she's been a fan favorite on the New Orleans scene for years. Offbeat Magazine named her Best Female Vocalist in 2017 and again in 2019 — so yeah, the city knows what's up.
