Formed out of a desire to highlight the musical connections between New Orleans and West Africa, the Fufu All-Stars play highlife, gospel, and brass band music from Ghana and Nigeria, mixed with American funk and jazz. In the band's loose-limbed take on these styles, powerful brass harmonies mingle with darting guitar lines, infectious traditional rhythms, and percussive fireworks to create a sound that packs dancefloors and puts smiles on faces. The eight-piece line-up features notable New Orleans musicians including Weedie Braimah, Luke Quaranta, Michael Watson, Ed Lee, and many others.
