Swampgrease, the brain child of New Orleans monster drummer Terence Higgins of the legendary DIRTY DOZEN BRASS BAND was formed in 2004 as a side project and an outlet to showcase some new music and the recording of Terence Higgins and Swampgrease first c.d. entitled in the bywater, was only the beginning, Swampgrease offers energy, excitement and blistering live shows and is by far one the hottest bands on the scene today, this dynamic group of musicians is comprised of some of new Orleans premier, well known and seasoned musicians with outstanding credentials. “it’s all about the roux” with each member bringing there own brand to the music makes Swampgrease funk bone crushing, Specializing in New Orleans grooves and keeping in touch with early New Orleans funk and R&B, with a special blend of rock and fusion and soulful vocals. The Band draws it’s influence from the legends of New Orleans music and beyond, from the old to the new and everything in between. By keeping one foot planted firmly in the past and a good eye on the future the torch has been past as Swampgrease usher’s in a new era of funky New Orleans music
