Mixing jazz chops with funky grooves and New Orleans soul TriFunctA, developed by drummer Wayne Maureau and keyboard master Mike Lemmler, is creating a new sound from the crescent city.
Their sound has been described as Tribal Tech meets The Yellowjackets meets The Funky Meters. They perform original compositions by all three members as well as tunes by John Scofield, Ricky Petersen, Billy Cobham, Jeff Lorber, Carl Burnett, Bob Berg, and funky versions of classic jazz tunes. TriFunctA can be found laying down the groove in New Orleans area venues such as Blue Nile, The Old Point Bar, The Maple Leaf, d.b.a., Dos Jefes Uptown Cigar Bar, Club 300, Snug Harbor, The Banks Street Bar and The Green Room.

Chris Adkins
Based in the great musical city of New Orleans, Louisiana, guitarist Chris Adkins' soulful approach, musical versatility and relentless work ethic has led him to touring, live and studio work with respected musicians of American music including Grammy Award nominees and winners. He began playing guitar at 11 years old, performed in the family band, studied with numerous master musicians throughout the years and believes that he will always be a student of the music.
His resume includes work with Maria Muldaur, George Porter Jr.'s Runnin' Pardners, Roland Guerin, Marc Broussard, Erica Falls, John Papa Gros, Susan Cowsill (of The Cowsills), Kristin Diable, Mia Borders, Lynn Drury, David Torkanowsky, George French, Johnny Vidacovich, Irma Thomas, Jon Cleary, Dr. John, Gal Holiday and many other artists. He has performed as far east as Japan and as far west at the Hawaiian Islands, including dates in Europe, Canada, Mexico and his touring in the U.S. has brought him to 47 states thus far. At home Chris is an Adjunct Professor of Guitar at the University of New Orleans and has contributed guitar and mandolin tracks to Louisiana PBS and independent documentaries.
